Educational Requirements and Experience
• Honors degree / NQF level 8 in Finance / Accounting.
• CA (SA) will be an added advantage.
• Eight (8) years’ experience at a management specific to managing financial accounting of which applicant should
have four (4) years middle management experience within Local / Private sector.
• Qualification and experience in terms of minimum competencies prescribed by National Treasury.
Job Description:
Lead and direct the activities of the Core Financial Accounting Unit towards the management and continuous improvements of the city’s Core Financial Accounting functions. Provide technical advisory services. Lead the
development, management and the implementation of relevant financial, legislation, policies regulations, procedures, systems and controls associated with key deliverables embodied in the department and review of robust internal financial control systems and risk management. Preparation of Financial Statements in line with MFMA & GRAP requirements. Direct and control specific accounting procedure associated with asset acquisition and disposal. Identify the short, medium and long term financial objectives and priorities of the Department. Conduct research in the field of Field of Finance in order to establish best practices so that the Department is formed. Disseminates information on Core Financial Accounting Section policies procedures, processes and guidelines and provides reports detailing
divisional intervention and outcomes. Manage and control the Key performance Indicators and outcomes of personnel within Core Financial accounting in Group Finance. Management of Creditors.
